Okay, deep breath. Things are going better, much better than last week. The drama from last week faded, and I got a ton of writing done, due in part to some lovely fic inspirations. I wrote 3 whole chapters of Magic Inc., one of which was 9 pages long, and a little selection from the future. I don't know why I seem to have some really good weeks, then some really bad weeks, when it comes to writing, but I'm just going to go with it. I'll write when I feel it pulling me, and I won't when it's not. That's just how I seem to work now. (Somebody remind me of this next time I start moping about a couple of poor writing weeks...)

I even went with a friend for lunch and a movie on Friday. I really wanted to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but it's still not anywhere near here, sadly. We saw Hotel Transylvania instead. It was cute, and it had a bit of a soulmate theme to it, which I always love! I just want to find my zing. *Sighs* Please, don't make me wait until I'm 118!

But back to writing... I'm sure I've mentioned that Dreaming in Shadow is to be my first published novel. Well, that's what I always thought, anyway. When I came up with the idea for the story at the end of 2003, I was certain of it. But now, nearly 9 years have passed, and Magic Inc. has become my main writing passion. In a way, this is a good thing. Not that long ago, I was scared out of my mind about finishing Dreaming in Shadow. Now, I'm excited about it. (Mostly.) And Magic Inc. has at least 10 books, just in the main story. What I'm writing now is just the beginning, and it will be a very, very long time before I have to worry about it ending.

But see, there's a part of me that worries if I let Magic Inc. Book One be my first novel instead of Dreaming in Shadow, I will be letting my 14-year-old self, whom I promised DiS to, down. Though in a way, it will be validating my poor dear 9-year-old self. (And in some ways, I like her better. I made a lot of my worst mistakes at 14. But that's a story for another time...) But really, it isn't a contest... or a race. Both books will get finished eventually. One will be the first, and the other will have the benefit of more experience. Though it's likely they'll both be finished around the same time. And who knows, maybe Miss Masquerade will sneak up on both of them? Okay, I doubt that one, but still... all three are quite on the right track, so things are - and will be - as they should be.

I read your previous post just now. I'm really sorry that I've been avoiding my f-list lately. Was just too much into my own drama with bad friends and all and withdrew into my hermit shell. I will try to be better.

I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower Friday night. It was really really good. Intense, definitely, so you might want to make sure it wouldn't trigger you or anything, but it was great.

The writing will go as it needs to go. Trust it.

*hugs*

Oh, that's okay. I understand. I haven't been on here much, myself. I'm sorry you were dealing with drama, too. <3

I love intense stories. They makes me cry and feel sad for a while, but they're really inspiring. The things that usually really trigger me are super violent. And when characters I really relate to get cheated on by guys I thought were Morgan-ish. That's a huge one, if we want to talk particulars.

Speaking of writing (and triggers), I know you've been writing the Valley sequel. I've read a bit, but all the talk of possibly eating people was really turning my stomach. I'm sorry. :( I wish you lots of luck with it, though!

Someone does cheat on someone, but the cheater is definitely not Morgan-ish. And there is one violent scene, where a character is getting beaten, but it's short and not really graphic.

Oh, it was old drama, from the Valley days and the secrets. The bad old feelings just got triggered.

Yeah - and one of the suggestions that I haven't gotten to yet is Lilith eating people and hiding the bodies.

It's going to be epic later on though! The idea is that Moonlight Falls is a different dimension. One where the story turned out differently. The Moonlight Falls Lilith is dead.

The Moonlight Falls Jason, Seth, and Sarah are all quite alive, though. ;) And Sarah is still in love with Seth, but in this dimension she's trying to stop him. And she read some of his books, and she figured out a way to bring the Sunset Valley Lilith, the Lilith who took him out, back to life and then to the Moonlight Falls dimension.

Lilith lost her memory because Sarah didn't do it quite right, not being Seth and so not really understanding the technique. And Moonlight Falls Seth is an alchemist (and a witch) and Sarah stole one of his werewolf elixirs to change Lilith into a werewolf.

I'm planning to do the Sarah reveal with "I," said the voice, "am a very good cook." Hahahahahahaha! :)

Oh, and the Moonlight Falls Lilith was killed by Seth when she was bitten by a zombie. Jason was working with Seth, but when that happened, he turned and went over to Sarah's side.

And as you can imagine, seeing Sunset Valley Lilith will bring on major angst for him. :)

I kind of I expected cheating from one of the trailers, but yeah, it's just if I feel betrayed myself, because I connected the character to Morgan. It's only happened a couple of times, but it was devastating. Cheating is something Morgan would never even consider, but it's probably my biggest fear all the same.

Recently, I've even had trauma from a character I related to just not ending up with a Morgan-ish character. But like I said, these things don't happen that often. And I'm even more particular about characters I connect to Morgan these days.

By violence I mean super bloody or gory. (Or talking about eating people. No, seriously, that is a thing with me.)

But man, that does sound really cool! I might just have to try reading around certain parts, instead of skipping it entirely. I'm really excited for you, either way! <3

Ahaha, thank you! :)

And I'm so glad that things are going a little more smoothly now. I also saw Hotel Transylvania the other week and I really liked how heart-warming it was, even with the spooky Halloween spirit.

Also, have you considered doing NaNoWriMo, by any chance? It sounds like your stories are really coming along!

Oh, NaNo. I kind of have a thing against NaNo, if you don't remember. (I say remember, because I see you commented on this post (http://fireflys-locket.livejournal.com/62612.html) from last year.) I don't work well under pressure at all, and the whole idea just stresses me out. But I kind of would like to try to finish something by the end of the year, and I'm hoping to put a lot of good work in during November!

Are you trying NaNo? I thought I saw something somewhere that you were? Good luck, if that's true! It's quite an undertaking.
