Using only song names from one artist/band, cleverly answer these questions.Try not to repeat a song title. It’s a lot harder than you think! I pulled this from Tumblr, but if you want to do it, post it anywhere you want.

I found another old quiz thing I decided to fill out. This one should be lot less controversial than the last one. Haha.

One of my friends - who has written a great Sims story, by the way - [livejournal.com profile] medleymisty, wrote out these questions. I haven't answered questions like this in some time. I love these things. But I won't promise my answers will be that interesting. I guess we'll see!

1. What's your favorite book, and why?

I'll admit that I'm not terribly well-read. Especially for a writer. I've read shamefully few classics in my couple of high school years. I always say that the only college class I would probably benefit from is one dedicated to studying classic literature, because I can't seem to make myself read them on my own.

I like Young Adult books. They may not be as technically well-written as Adult Fiction (though that's up for debate), but they often have, in my opinion, a lot more heart. When I read, I want to feel exactly what the character is feeling, more than I want to see what they are seeing. But if you're able to balance them both, that makes for a great book, indeed.

I change my very favorite book here and there, but my favorite book series is always Harry Potter. Jo Rowling is able to do just what I said: help us both feel and see. She has a vast world of characters and history. As someone creating a world just as big, I admire that. Plenty of Fantasy Fiction does great with world-building, but not all of them have as much heart as the Harry Potter books. That's what makes them special.

2. What's your favorite song, and why?

My favorite song changes even more than my favorite book. But there are a few songs I call on when I need to heal or cry. Might seem like a contradiction, but crying can be healing, sometimes. Anyhow, probably my favorite song would be Anna Nalick's In My Head, because she talks about pretending her soulmate is there with her, and that's what gets her through. And that's pretty much the core of my life. If I didn't let myself pretend to be with him, I wouldn't be able to make it through. Sounds kind of crazy, probably.

A close second would be Owl City's Vanilla Twilight. It's almost the male version of In My Head. Or at least, that's how I see it.

3. If you could eat anything ever, what would you eat?

Oreo cream pie. Honestly, anything with oreos is my weakness.

4. How did you come by your current beliefs?

I think I finally figured out most of what I truly believed in by writing it. Like when I made it that every character in my world had a soulmate, I realized that I believed that was true of our world, too. But I think I always knew what was true for me, even when I was little. Just years of growing up in Catholic School, trying to be the perfect Catholic, might have made me proclaim things I didn't really believe in. Just to note, I do believe in a God, but he isn't as unaccepting as the one I "grew up with".

5. If you had a spaceship, what would you name it?

Firefly! That both is and isn't a reference to the TV show. Basically, I would have named it that even if I hadn't seen the show, which I only watched for the first time a couple of years ago. But now, I do see it as a Firefly ship.

6. If you could turn into a small round thing and go up someone's nose and into their brain and see what it was like to be them, whose nose would you go up?

Oh, I would get way too queasy just thinking about seeing the inside of somebody's body. But if I had to choose someone, I guess I would go into Morgan. At least that would mean I knew where he was!

7. What is your personal definition of humility?

This is a really good question. As[livejournal.com profile] medleymisty mentions in her post, it can be used to mean self-deprecating. And as someone, who struggles with self-esteem in a pretty extreme way, I can't say that sounds like a good thing. I think what it should mean is knowing your place in the world. Knowing that you're here for a reason, but also that you're connected to the whole world. Respecting that, in general, you're not more important than any other person. That everyone has a place in this world.

8. Pick up the book nearest you. Turn to page 87. What's the first full sentence?

Oh, how unfortunate...This page 87 just has a section title: Rogerson. It's from Sarah Dessen's Dreamland, which I haven't read yet, but I adore a couple of her other books, and this one came quite recommended. This will probably be what I start after I finish Mag Cabot's Insatiable, which is what I'm reading right now. But I have so many good sounding books here to read. <3

9. Do you have heroes? If so, who are they and why are they your hero(es)?

My personal hero is probably my Grandma. She had so much love in her. There were things we disagreed on, but mostly, I admired her strength of love and faith.

When it comes to writing and creating stories, Jo Rowling and Ai Yazawa are my heros. They've inspired me so much. I couldn't thank them enough.

10. Are you attached to your username as part of your identity, or do you have different usernames all over the internet?

Oh, this username means so much to me. If you don't know the history, I once typed it up here. I was getting a little irritated that people kept assuming I used the word firefly because of the Owl City song, when I actually came up with it a good 7-8 years beforehand. Not that I don't adore that song. I mean, if any celebrity were Morgan, it would be Adam Young. <3 And now, I should stop talking, because I'm embarrassing myself. :/

11. What do you think makes for a good healthy friendship?

Sometimes, I'm not sure if any of my friendships are that healthy. Usually, either my friends barely have any time for me, or I end up sucking the life out of them, because I'm so needy and depressing. On the other hand, I would do anything I could for my friends, but at times, I end up feeling like all I ever do is give. It doesn't make me want to give any less, but it does make me feel lonely.

I guess a healthy friendship would be where two people, with love and respect, supported each other, while not compromising their own well-being. But like I said, I'm not sure I know how to do that. I both give and need with such passion, that I think I would need someone, who could match that intensity. That's kind of where Morgan comes in. I need someone, who could be my best friend as well as my lover. Someone, who could handle all my passion. Haha.

I've been so busy this week, and for the first time in awhile, it had nothing to do with my Grandma's house. Such a relief. I did stop by there with Jan and Paul once to feed Grandma's stray cats. We saw four kittens! It was the fist time I can remember seeing such small ones all year. Jan and I also picked some sweet peas. It was nice. I know I'm going to miss the house a lot when I can't go anymore.

So, this week's busy was mostly to do with writing. I started last weekend off by working on Miss Masquerade while playing with Sapphira's family on The Sims 2. It's such a fun way to write. I started to think about some of the characters that don't have last names, since I couldn't make them as sims unless I gave them some sort of last name. So, with the help of my Mom doing some research on Italian surnames, I found a last name for Sylas. I wrote it on the notebook I keep on my desk and glanced at it over the week. Everytime I did, I still really liked it. I'll probably make him (and his brother) soon.

Tuesday, while I was doing laundry, I was thinking about book names for my Magic Inc. series. I only had titles for the first 3 books. I was also thinking about my old Harry Potter series, which had many of the same themes. (It was probably because I've been reading a HP fanfic over this month. A great read, by the way.) I thought about the parallels between the world I was making up just in my head and the fanfiction I was writing out. I realized that with a little work, I could use some of the old titles. Now, I have great titles for the first 6 books and tentative ideas for the following 2. Putting those titles into place on my timeline made me end up spending a good hour or so getting some other stories lined up. Now, I have 15 of the busiest years in place.

I also finished the Miss Masquerade chapter that I hadn't quite finished. And I was super nervous about that part. Sapphira has a dream, whose effects I had planned for ages, but I hadn't figured out what exactly was going to happen. I was almost sick about it until Thursday, when I showed Jill. She loved it. I kept asking her for opinions, since she studies dreams, but she had a hard time not just saying how much she liked it. Hehe. I still think it needs a little work - it feels quite raw, like most parts of Spun of Silver - but I do feel better about it now. Or maybe it's supposed to feel raw, considering Sapphira's reaction to it? Hmm.

Yesterday, I spent the day with my Mom, then we picked up Joe around 6PM to go see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Believe it or not, it was only my third time. Yeah. That's insane for me. Just goes to show how busy it's been with my Grandma's house. *Sighs* Anyways, I enjoyed it so much... cried lots... but I also started getting ideas for an upcoming Miss Masquerade chapter. It's a blessing and a curse. The better - or more inspirational - the movie, the more likely I am to start feeling like I need to write or think about my own stories at some point. That's why I enjoy watching movies at home by myself best. I can pause whenever I want to for a 10 (or more) minute break. It happens all the time.

Today, I wrote about 5 pages of Dreaming in Shadow, finishing up a chapter I've been working on for a few weeks. The first half was action-oriented, which is not my favorite or best type of writing, but the second half was full of emotion. I had such a great feeling while writing, and I found some great songs to fit with it. One is a song from the newest season of Degrassi. Fits so well. Goodness, I love Degrassi music. <3

I've been totally in love with Degrassi, of course. I'm trying to not overwatch this season, though. I watched the Boiling Point episodes so many times that I'm kind of sick of them. I don't want that to happen again. I still love interactions between Clare and Eli, though I'm not sure they should get back together. I like Imogen in a character appreciation-type way. I'm not so crazy about Jake. He's sweet sometimes, but I can't see him being a long-term match for Clare. I wish there was more Adam, though I know they need to deal with older characters storylines right now. Speaking of that, I just knew they didn't bring in a pretty young teacher without plans for a student/teacher relationship. I like it so far, though I miss Sav/Anya still.

Here's a list of music and videos I'd really like to find. As far as I know, there's no legitimate way to find these things. If I'm wrong, I'm 100% fine with a link to a place where I can purchase CDs or DVDs (at a decent price) or whatever. Keep in mind; however, that I can not currently use Pay Pal.

I got a new iPod Nano! It's so teeny and awesome! It took me awhile to talk myself into it, because I don't go out much and am usually attached to my computer and Windows Media Player, but it really was a great idea. It's really a Christmas present from my Mom and Joe. But I always mangage to get my Christmas presents early - doesn't that sound Slytherin-y of me? - this time, because I gave my Mom my old iPod.

Anyways, things I love about my iPod: The little screen not only shows the album art I meticulously put into my songs but also the lyrics! My old shuffle didn't even have a screen. And oh, I did love it for what it was worth. But not having a screen was really a bummer. Now, if I'm out and need a certain song to write, I can actually find it. Okay, so that doesn't happen a lot, especially in Winter, but I'll probably get a good 5 or so years out of it like I did with my shuffle. Maybe even longer because I've barely gotten 3 Gigs on it so far. I have way more music, but I need to sort it all first. :/ I'm really OCD about this stuff.

While I was trying out my iPod, I also read two chapters of an awesome Harry Potter fanfiction. It's a story that has inspired a possible fanfic of my own just from listening to an old discussion about it. (I'm reminded of how Mallory talking about The Mediator books lead me to my side of Spun of Silver!) The fanfic was actually removed from sites due to the author becoming published and signing a contract or some such. But I managed to find it it, and I think I made a new LJ friend in the process. YaY!

The fic follows Draco if he had been placed in Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin. Apparently, it's going to be Draco/Harry, eventually... which certainly isn't my cup of tea, but the discussion on SpellCast just kept making me think about it over time. I finally decided to give it a try. So far, it's well written enough to make me think I'll be able to get through it, though I'm not big on slash. If I continue to enjoy the fic, I think I'll look into the author's published work.

I'm looking forward to seeing Deathly Hallows Part 1 a 4th time with my Dad and MaryAnn somtime this week. I haven't seen them in nearly 6 months. :/ I hope they actually show up. *Sighs* I have at least heard from my Dad a few times this week. That's a good sign. He's been taking care of Mike's daughter, Brooklyn. <3 I really, really want to meet her, but that's a long ride for me. Maybe some time next Summer, if it doesn't turn out as horrible as the last two. *Awkward laugh*

While I fully enjoy the song "Fireflies" by Owl City, I'm starting to find it extremely annoying that people are assuming I took my username (which I use just about everywhere) from it. ~_~; So, here we are... an explanation of where my username comes from...

Firefly's Locket (not Fireflies misspelled, but possessive) is an object in my stories. Now, originally, I did fall in love with a song about fireflies ("Firefly" by A*Teens), which became the inspiration for a naming a character Firefly in my Harry Potter fanfiction, Lily and the Coral Orb, and later, The Timeline. Firefly has an enchanted locket that is rather important to my stories as a whole. She is sort of my guardian angel in the stories that are the most about me. And I wear her locket.

So, in short, while semi-inspired by a different song, my frequent username "fireflys_locket" is from my stories and has nothing to do with Owl City. Thank you, and have a nice day.

(Firefly's Locket owned since circa 2001.)
