So, Netflix...

So, my Aunt Pat decided to get me a Netflix subscription as a Christmas gift. I've never exactly watched a lot of movies, so at first I was pretty skeptical of how much use I would get out of it, but I've been able to fill my queue up more than I thought. And they have some anime! <3 That's really what has helped. But still... now would be a great chance to recommend me movies (and tv and anime shows)! Should you wish to do so.

All I've done lately is ask for recs! Sorry, not much else to say right now. As for anything else... I'm coming down with something. It doesn't seem too bad just yet. Mostly a sore throat. But I pretty much curl up at the slightest physical pain. I'm such a weakling. ~_~;

And I'm going to curl up in bed right now and watch the Death Note movie from Netflix, I think. <3

PS: Somebody bug me to get back to writing when I'm feeling better. I'm so out of my writing flow. *Sighs*

Um.. Well, you say you don't watch a lot of movies, but can you remember anything you have seen and enjoyed? Just as a starting point?

Hope your throat gets better, too. Drinking a lot of warm liquids?

There's a list on my recommendations page. ^_^ It actually seems fair sized, but I bet if you compared it to anyone else's it's still not a lot.

Thanks, Dear. By the way, I reviewed that Takumi/Reira drabble fic of yours. ^_^ I really enjoyed it!

Hmm. I think I'll second Stranger than Fiction and throw in Bicentennial Man -- both are more along the lines of drama (I think particularly when in comparison to it's starring actors, both are better known for their comedy), but they're very well done. Also, hey.. when it comes to anime, have you checked out Princess Tutu yet?

And I noticed.♥ Thanks for the review. I need to get to writing more for the series. You wouldn't happen to have any ideas, would you?

I haven't seen Princess Tutu yet.

You're welcome. I have my own NANA ideas that I'll probably never actually write because I spend ten times more time thinking about writing than actually doing it, but that's just the way I work. I need to let my ideas develop for a long time before writing. But anyways...

I really should try to write the shorter ones at least. They aren't getting any clearer just sitting around. But it's hard for me to bother writing when no one reads. Haha.

You know... I kind of, almost wrote a Takumi/Reira thing. I mean, they are original characters, but after writing it... I could just really see the inspiration was there. Of course, he isn't even nearly as harsh as Takumi... and she's probably not as... outspoken, maybe? as Reira. Still.

It's cute! Though it certainly has more depth than the title or first few episodes allow. If you're into classical pieces and different perspectives when it comes to fairytales, try it out?

I can definitely relate to that. =_= I've got tons of story ideas and never really take the time to write them down. Laziness will probably be the death of me.

I see the inspiration in there, too. The whole songwriting thing reminded me a little of the actual song Sara Smile by Hall & Oates -- which is odd, I've never had fiction remind me of stuff like that. Still, it was nice. (I laughed a little at that Sims legacy thing, too.)

Okay. I have three recs for it now! <3 That's a very good sign.

I'm with you on the death from laziness. One day, I'll decide to stop breathing because it's too much work. ~_~;

I really didn't do it on purpose, though. Sarah has been a character of mine years before I read NANA. Though she was originally (and will return to being if I ever write her a long story) an actress. But I had the title and... somehow it just worked. (Oh, yeah. That. o.o; I need to get back to that too. *Dies*)

Thank you. <3 But you should have left it on the rec page! HeH. Oh, well. ^_^

I've actually seen that. <3 I really liked it.

Thank you!

With few rare exceptions, if an anime has been released on DVD in the U.S., Netflix has it. Meaning they pretty much have every anime you can think of aside from brand new stuff airing in Japan and really obscure stuff. I'm a big fan of Netflix, and use it primarily as a source of anime, but their Asian film selection is great too!

I second Princess Tutu. Just be sure to watch it all the way to the end.

I'll take a look at your rec page and see if I know of anything good to recommend in accordance with your tastes.

netflix is awsome. i love the "other viewers who liked..." recommendations. they're usually spot on. rate as many movies as you can, it helps.

Ah, sadly... my Netflix time is over now. It was quite enjoyable, though. ^_^
